Dear Reader,

โ€‹

I am thrilled to introduce the very first edition of our weekly newsletter, “Sacred Pathways,” coming to you every Wednesdayโ€”Mercury Day! It feels significant, considering Wednesday’s association with communication, intellect, and new beginnings. Here, we come together to connect, share, and evolve as a community.

โ€‹

“Sacred Pathways” has been brewing in my heart for some time now. It emerged as a whisper, a promise of something really special, though I had no idea what direction it would take. This space is where we can be raw, unfiltered, and vulnerable. Sharing what we’re learning, diving into, and discovering. My hope is to act as a Yogic tour guide for your adventure. It’s my intention that we all find places and spaces like this in our livesโ€”a sanctuary where we can truly be ourselves and stay open, curious, and connected.

โ€‹

The other day, as I drove to my Yoga at The Boathouse class, I found myself immersed in the wisdom shared on the Michael Mead podcast. And suddenly, it clickedโ€”Sacred Pathways was meant to be a newsletter! This newsletter serves as your personal refuge of soulful insights, practical tips, and gentle reminders to nurture your mind, body, and spirit. It’s my offering to share resources, inspiration, practices, and love in every way I can.

As we bask in the radiant glow of the full flower moon, we’re presented with a beautiful opportunity to release, nourish, and rejuvenate. This celestial alignment, enhanced by the moon’s glow and astrological position, beckons us towards a state of bliss and inner illumination. Embracing the full moon’s energy allows us to shed old patterns, nurture our souls, and embrace the transformative power of the present moment. This auspicious connection with the cosmos serves as a reminder of the interconnectedness of all things, inspiring a deeper sense of self-awareness and spiritual awakening.

โ€‹

I’m excited to hear what you want to explore in these newsletters. Whether it’s new insights, practices, or inspiration, let me know what resonates with you. Together, we can create a journey of continuous growth and transformation.

๐ŸŒ• Soma Practice: Embodying the Full Moon
โ€‹

Ah, somaticsโ€”such a buzzword these days, right? But letโ€™s peel back the layers of hype and get to the core of it. Somatics is all about allowing your soul to fully occupy your form. It’s where the magic happens, where the spirit likes to dress up like this (yes, borrowing a line from Mary Oliver) and reminds us that our bodies are wisdom libraries.

  1. Moon Salutations: Begin with a series of gentle moon salutations to open your heart and connect with the lunar energy. I like this guide from Ekhart Yoga,
  2. Lunar Breath: Practice a calming breathwork sequence, inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling slowly through your mouth, aligning your breath with the moon’s phases.
  3. Embodying Light: Imagine the moonlight filling your body, starting from your feet and rising to the crown of your head. Feel this light energizing and purifying every cell.
  4. Grounding Meditation: Sit or lie down in a comfortable position, and visualize roots growing from your body into the earth, grounding you while the moonlight continues to fill you with its serene energy.

โ€‹

This practice is a beautiful way to honor the full moon and nurture your awareness.

๐Ÿ“š Summer Reading List: Nourish Your Mind and Soul

This summer, immerse yourself in these inspiring and transformative reads:

  • โ€‹Returning Home to Our Bodies by Abigail Rose: A beautiful guide on reconnecting with our physical selves, this book offers profound insights and practical exercises to deepen your relationship with your body. We are going to be reading this together and embodying the beautiful work of my friend Abigail in our Yoga at The Boathouse Classes. Join here.
  • โ€‹Yoga and Science in Pain Care: Treating the Person in Pain by Neil Pearson and Shelly Prosko: An essential read for anyone interested in the therapeutic applications of yoga. This book provides a comprehensive exploration of yoga therapy’s principles and practices in pain. Shelly is a dear teacher of mine and Neil and I are in an IAYT committee together. I am so proud and honored to share their work. These practices are so powerful.
  • โ€‹The Big Leap: Gay Hendricks suggests that each person has an innate capacity for happiness and success but often self-sabotages when they reach their upper limit of what they believe they deserve. By identifying and transcending these limits, individuals can break through barriers and live a life of abundance, love, and creativity. This book was mandatory reading for my Master Healer training with Tiffany Carole and totally transformed my thinking.

That’s all for now! Until next week.
