Dear Reader,

As the birds serenade the dawn and the Earth gently stirs from her winter slumber, we find ourselves on the cusp of something truly magicalβ€”the arrival of Spring. It’s a season that whispers promises of renewal, of fresh beginnings, and of profound awakening. Check out the power of bird song here.

The other morning, I woke up with a feeling that something was off, and my body was telling me loud and clear: it needed rest.

I cherish the fact that I’ve developed the ability to listen to these messages. It’s a testament to the life I’ve crafted, one where I prioritize and respect my body’s needs.

In the past, I would’ve ignored these signals, pushing myself forward despite them. Why? Because I feared disappointing others, worried about what they might think or how I was letting them down.

But here’s the truth: When I neglect my body’s needs, it feels let down, and that’s a far worse outcome. My previous way was all about what others needed, but in reality, it was a form of abandoning myself. This self-abandonment leads to an imbalance in energy, which, in turn, affects my overall well-being and most importantly, my ability to do what I’m here to do!

Honoring oneself, on the other hand, is a beautiful and empowering act of self-reclamation.

In the spirit of listening deeply to the body’s wisdom, please join me for a spring awakening celebration!

Join me at the Boathouse this Thursday, March 21st, for a heart-centered gathering where we’ll embrace the energy of the vernal equinox. This donation-based event is a celebration of connection, ritual, and magic. Discover the gifts of Yoga and Ayurveda through the seasons of nature and of life!

Take a moment to pause, to breathe, and to reconnect with the rhythms of nature and the depths of our own souls.

Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or simply curious about the path of wellness, this event is for you. Together, we’ll flow through a rejuvenating yoga practice, guided by the wisdom of ancient traditions and the joy of community.

And, because you are so dear to me, I wish to gift you a practice of peace and empowerment for the season. A simple, yet profound yoga therapy practice, designed to illuminate your inner light and guide you toward balance and harmony:

Asana: Let us embrace the gentle strength of Tadasana (Mountain Pose), grounding ourselves in the present moment, feeling the earth beneath us and the sky above us.

Pranayama: Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath), a vibrant breath to awaken your inner fire, cleanse your mind, and invigorate your spirit. (Note: Contraindications include pregnancy, high blood pressure, and recent surgeries. Please practice with care.)

Mudra: Surya Mudra (Sun Gesture), for igniting the light within, promoting vitality and aliveness.

Marma Point: Surya Mandala Marma, corresponding acupoint CV11 and CV12. Surya means sun and is the essence of fire in the body. Located three cun above the umbilicus this point is the midway point between the umbilicus and xyphoid process. Use this point to detoxify and rejuvenate your physical and energetic body. You can use acupressure or soothing abhyanga oil like sandalwood or jasmine. I make custom oil blends if you need!

May this practice serve as a beacon of light, guiding you toward a season filled with growth, joy, and endless possibilities.

xx
